You have the right to delete your GoDriver account at any time. This page explains the procedure, what data is deleted, and what data must be retained by law.
How to request account deletion
Send an email to the address below with the subject "Delete account":

- The email address of the account you want to delete
- The associated phone number (for verification)
- The reason (optional — it helps us improve the service)
- Confirmation that you understand deletion is final for personal data
2. Processing time
We will process the request within a maximum of 30 calendar days from receipt, in accordance with GDPR. In most cases, deletion is performed within 5–7 business days. You will receive email confirmation when the process is complete.
3. What gets deleted
- Name, surname, email, phone number, password
- Avatar and other profile data
- Saved pickup/drop-off addresses
- Push notification tokens and active sessions
- KYC data (for drivers) after the legal retention period expires
- GPS coordinates from ride history
4. What we must retain (and why)
Certain data is retained even after account deletion, in accordance with legal obligations:
- Invoices and accounting documents — 10 years, per Art. 25 of Romanian Accounting Law 82/1991.
- Intermediation and transport contracts — 10 years from termination, per the Civil Code.
- Anti-money laundering data — 5 years, per Law 129/2019.
- Ride history (anonymized) — kept without personal identifiers, for statistics and reports to tax authorities.
Retained data is accessible only to authorized personnel (accounting, legal) and competent authorities upon legal request.
5. Alternatives to full deletion
If you don't want to fully delete your account, you have the following options:
- Temporary account deactivation (data is kept but you no longer appear online)
- Unsubscribing from push notifications and marketing emails
- Withdrawing consent for certain processing (GPS location, marketing)
6. Account restoration
After deletion is confirmed, the account cannot be recovered. If you wish to use GoDriver again, you will need to create a new account.
